Overcoming to Advocate

My professional journey didn't start in a boardroom; it started in the system. At six years old, I was abandoned alongside my one-year-old brother. I navigated the child welfare system until I was fifteen, when I found myself living on the streets.

I had to learn how to survive, how to navigate broken institutions, and how to rebuild my life from the ground up. Overcoming those streets taught me profound resilience, but it also exposed the massive gaps in how we support our most vulnerable populations.

That lived experience is the core motivation behind my pursuit of a Master of Social Work (MSW). Whether I am helping a senior secure their independence through a reverse mortgage or fighting for systemic change, I know what it means to need an advocate. I bring that same dedication to everyone I serve.
